I was driving to work yesterday, listening to my Bible study podcast, when I heard a phrase that jumped out at me. It was from 1 Samuel.
1 Samuel 18
1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
Their souls were knit together.
I love the sound of that. They were more than best friends. Jonathan’s soul was knit together with David’s and he loved him as much as he loved his own soul.
What a wonderful description of the handful of true friends that I have been fortunate enough to have. Isn’t that just the perfect way to say that you are connected for life?
Our souls are knit together.
Beautiful insight!
Awesome, I feel the same with the few friends I have!
Funny. I named my youngest brother Jonathan when I was 6. We look very similar, but this pair of David and Jonathan aren’t very close at all.
Just nominated you the Sunshine Award!
Thank you!
That really is a beautiful, touching sentiment (being ‘knit’ together) Love it 🙂
