My assignment for the 9th Week in my Photoshop course was to divide my canvas into equal halves to convey the theme of “Opposites in Conflict”. I also had to find a way to show one element passing from one image to the other. We were required to harvest images from Flickr under the Creative Commons-lisenced content.
This was my toughest assignment so far. Most of my time was spent sifting through hundreds of images to find the two main images that illustrate opposites. I wanted images of good vs. evil, tenderness vs. malice, light vs. dark. Once I found my images, I worked on blending layers and adding textures. Things moved quickly after that. I finished the Photoshop work in about 5 hours.
