Silent Sean

Mary’s Tacos. Kerrville, Texas

Searching for a good breakfast taco before leaving Kerrville, Texas, I stopped at Mary’s Tacos – a local favorite. It’s not much more than a one room little kitchen restaurant where you order your tacos and carry them out. There aren’t any tables inside, only some patio chairs and tables out back.

The menu listed what you can order: The Sean Special, The Silent Sean, The Macho Sean, The Bubba, The Wendy and of course, whatever else you’d like to add. I looked over the menu and glanced around the kitchen prep area. Everything looked and smelled good.

The Sean seemed to fit the bill for me: potato, egg, beans, bacon and cheese. I substituted chorizo for the bacon though. It comes with salsa on the side.

I was curious so I asked the fella taking our order, ‘What’s the Silent Sean?”

With a bit of a grin, he replied, “No beans.”
