The media loves to keep us divided. Covering the ‘Kneeling’ issue is a perfect example of the media keeping us distracted from the true issue in order to suggest that we’re all a divided country. See, the issue is not Colin Kaepernick, or the players of the NFL or Donald Trump or even kneeling. Ironically, we are all united in our love of football so why are we told we’re all divided on this issue? The press has successfully NOT covered the issue that the protest was originally supposed to be about – police brutality and injustice in law enforcement. Where is that in today’s coverage of ‘Kneeling’? This issue got lost. And the media who is supposed to investigate and report – is feeding us the discord and conflict that brings viewers to their channel or their publication.
Police brutality and injustice in law enforcement is not a black or white issue. Its not an issue that should divide us. Its an issue that unites every one of us when we come across it. Advances in Race Relations are because Black AND WHITE people fought for it. It wasn’t just Black people. It was a nation of all races and beliefs – we all fight for justice!
I have been falsely accused and had to endure the humiliating experience of a bad cop too. I came close to being arrested. Fortunately for me, he backed off. One of my white crew members was beat up by a Galveston cop. There are certainly examples of injustice and it should not be tolerated black or white or whatever a person may be. And I can tell you first hand from my travels around the world, America is a model society for combating injustice. We’re not perfect and we can do better, but we stand UP and confront injustice and work towards harmony and peace. The Press and the TV we are watching does NOT have news to report when all of us are getting along. They make news and they attract viewers by showing conflict, injustice, blood and violence.
Try not to be duped by what the media is feeding you. Think. Dig under the crap that we’re being fed and find the true issue that started this whole circus: horrible and rare examples of police brutality and injustice in law enforcement. And these are RARE examples, horrible as they may be. The VAST majority of law enforcement officers are upright, honorable, peace loving, family oriented …and BRAVE individuals who protect our freedom from criminals who break the LAW. Typically, if you don’t break the law, you don’t get tangled up with a cop.
The National Anthem honors the rights guaranteed us as well as all the individuals who served to protect those rights. You kneel – you’re a sucker. You stand – you’re a patriot who is humbled and pays respect to men and women who have served our country.
I’ll be standing up.
